Who am I?

My name is Trent Crawford. I am a husband, father, mechanical engineer, software developer, product manager and B2B sales professional. I am an Aussie, who calls Switzerland (and Australia) home.

As a sales engineer with an equipment manufacturer I sell cooling systems for power stations, which help keep the lights on around the world. In a previous role I worked in a product management team to position a unique coating machine tool, which was used to make front and back electrical contacts for thin-film solar modules.

In addition to a Bachelor in Engineering (Mechanical) from The University of Queensland I also earned a Postgraduate Diploma in Energy Studies from Murdoch University (via correspondence). I care deeply about renewable energy production and climate change.

I am also an avid software developer.  For web development I use PHP/Laravel/MySQL/JavaScript/HTML and various other technologies. You can read some kind words from my last PHP development course mentor on my LinkedIn profile.

I recently worked with our vendor to implement a Configure Price Quote (CPQ) application. In the role of product owner I was responsible for communicating business requirements to the vendor and was accountable for the timeline and budget. For this project I tried my hand with C#.NET and wrote a heat transfer library, and various APIs,  which are integrated with our CPQ tool.

It has long been posited that the best way to learn something is to teach. With that in mind I aim to publish some tutorials on this site on various software applications and development.
